■Curricula of the Department of System Design Engineering
Besides experiments and practical exercises, the required curriculum consists of six courses: “Thermal Fluid Dynamics Systems I”, “Modeling of Statical and Dynamical Phenomena”, “Circuits and Systems I”, and “Electromagnetic Engineering”, all of which cover the basics of system design, “Engineering Mathematics”, which provides a theoretical basis for the previous four courses and “Introduction to System Design Engineering”, which allows students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology. Another ten recommended courses supplement these six required courses. Furthermore, students can choose electives from a wide variety of basic and advanced courses, in accordance with their individual interests. “Design Literacy Exercise” aims to enhance students’ ability to express and represent design. “Computer Programming Exercise” enables students to master computer and calculator programming. “Laboratories in System Design Engineering 1) and 2)”, covering experiments in fields such as mechanics, control, electricity, and information systems, enable students to acquire the practical tools needed to design systems and learn basic creative activities. “Exercise on System Design Engineering” offers an opportunity to acquire a general ability of system design engineering. By providing a wide array of practical courses, the department seeks to pass on knowledge and skills to students to cultivate their untapped creativity.

For many lecture courses in the Department of System Design Engineering, instead of commercially available text, specialized textbooks written and edited by the lecturer is distributed to students free of charge. This leads to efficient and high-quality lectures that the content of the lecture matches the text, while reducing the financial burden on students.
